Blue cloth hardcovers with gold embossed circular illustrations on the front boards. Gilt stamped titles on the spines. Gilt top edges. Maps located in the rear pockets. Light, thin cracks to the hinges. Contents are tightly bound. Several unopened pages. Light edge wear to cloth extremities both volumes with small closed edge tears top of volume 1. The blue cloth is lightly faded on the spine of volume 2. Minor spotting and rubbing to cloth bottom of volume 1 front cover. Scribner's publisher name in gilt bottom of both volumes.
