About This Item
London: Francis Edwards, 1915. Octavo. 177pp., large folding chart following the last page. With an introduction and notes by Basil Thomson. Mutiny on the Bounty ranks first among the stories of the sea, with the living elements of romance, of primal passion and of tragedy, all moving to a happy ending in the Arcadia of Pitcairn Island. The Pandora, a frigate of 24 guns, was commissioned for the purpose of searching for and bringing Capt. Bligh's mutineers home for punishment. A very good copy bound in maroon cloth, spine lettering gilt, top edge gilt, two tiny spots to front board, previous owner's stamped name, some leaves unopened and one open a bit carelessly. A very good copy.
