Oblong 8vo, 132 x 205 mm., bound in contemporary brown cloth over green marbled boards. Paris: Alexis Eymery, 1826. First edition. A beautifully coloured educational work on geography for French children. The fictional English pair of "Felix" and "Felicia" tour the world describing the great cities and sites. The text is accompanied by charming hand-coloured city views arranged four per plate. Views include London, Paris, Naples, St. Petersburg, Washington D.C., Peking, Cairo, Buenos Aires among many more. Other illustrations include maps and costume plates. Although described as a translation, there does not appear to be an English source. A fine copy. Rare with OCLC listing copies at Yale, Indiana, Harvard, Princeton and the BN.
