Two scarce booklets introducing the famous 1928 Exhibition of Contemporary Culture, an important display of progress made in all the arts in ten years of independent Czechoslovakia. The exhibition also presented new trends in the sciences, technology, education, and housing, on specially built spaces in Pisárky. With a superb constructivist design on the front wrapper and the title page, as well as throughout, by Zdeněk Rossmann, incorporating a drawn design by František Václav Süsser (1890-1956), the Vienna-trained artist and close friend of Oskar Kokoschka's. The German edition replicates the design in red, rather than the original green of the Czech edition. This short guide gives an overview over the various parts of the exhibition.
