About This Item

New York: Macmillan Company, 1914. Hardcover. Good. New York: The Macmillan Company, 1914. 7 1/2 x 5 inches: pp. x, 220, 13 page catalog of Macmillan titles under their various imprints. Dark blue cloth with spine titles in giltand titles in black on front.

Corners and bottom edge of boards bumped, a few dark spots to rear board. Small bit of moisture staining on bottom edge of boards and first few pages. Previous owner's name on front endpaper. Otherwise nice clean copy in tight binding. Early work by social theorist and back-to-the-land pioneer Scott Nearing whose rural, quasi-utopian self-sustaining living experiments in the 1950's in New England, paved the way for an entire generation of "back-to-the-landers."
