Boston: Boston English High School, 2008. Very rare Private Press: 8vo size booklet has cardstock covers bound with black cloth tape. An unattributed black and white illustration is on the front cover. Unpaginated - about 20 pages. Introduction by Ms. Boyle From Introduction: "In response to their reading (The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass) students wrote their own slave songs from Frederick Douglass' perspective. The following pages contain my students' interpretation of what Frederick Douglass might have sung had he written his own slave song. These songs moved me to tears. Each and every song is powerful in and of itself, an as a collection they are even more unforgettable." These songs have no music. They are poetry.
