En passant, stopped in London to see the opening of the Great Exhibition, be presented to the Queen..." The author's travel destinations include Danemora Iron Mines, the "Seven Churches", Plains of Troy, Palmyra, Jerusalem, Petra, Seringapatam, Surat, Cashmere, Peshawur, the Khyber Pass to Afghanistan, Java, China and Mauritius.

8vo, color frontis and half title, 531pp, b&w ills, map. Olive green blindstamped decorative cloth, gilt Taj Mahal at front cover, gilt title to spine. Spine rubbed at ends, short splits to top edge, cloth rippled & marked. Internally, fox spotting, text block no longer intact. As is.
