About This Item
New York: Simon and Schuster, 1939 . First Printing. Hardcover. Near fine. Near fine copy, navy boards unfaded, corners crisp, binding tight and square. Lacking front free endpaper. First edition of Pecora's timeless account of the the 1930s Senate inquiry into Wall Street and the crash, which uncovered many corrupt and abusive practices and led to the Glass-Steagall Banking Act and the Securities Act of 1933, among others. Although Pecora was the chief counsel of the investigation, his role was so significant it became known as the "Pecora Commission."
