"The story of an early Iowa narrow gauge railroad and its struggle for survival...told...by a veteran railroad man"; the train ran from Lehigh to Judd, starting in 1875. INSCRIBED by the author on the title page: "To my favorite cousin Harris Manny with the best of good wishes. A. P. Butts." Butts put in nearly 48 years on the Fort Dodge, Des Moines and Southern Railway before retiring in 1956. Brown hardcover, gilt titling. Light wear to book, small stain & tiny holes to front panel of jacket, short tear to rear panel. Text clean; 120 pages; b/w photos, crude maps, a few reproductions of old documents. . Inscribed by the Author. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Good. 7½" by 9½".
