Illustrator: Photographic. preface and introduction by author, list of illustrations and index. Text illustrated with 35 black and white photographs. Dark pink coloured boards with the Southern Cross embossed on the bottom right-hand corner of the front cover, in gold, and gold coloured titles to the spine. The author was reluctantly cast upon Australian shores, when he accompanied the Russian ballet for a tour of Australia. When he was there he fell in love with the country and people and he set about finding out all he could of both city and countryside, the artistic life of Australia and this book is the result of his findings.  Softening and rubbing of the back strip edges with a little bumping of the book corners. Rubbing and fraying of the book corners and the lower book corners has the underlying board visible. Rubs and marks to the book panels and the back strip is foxed and faded. Age toning and foxing of the text block edges with age toning of the pages. Offset tanning and foxing of the end pages and the first few and last few pages of the book. Previous owners name to the top edge of the free front end page.  Second Edition Revised.
