Second Impression: September 1940." Variant, second impression, with name of publisher on rear wrap, and added preface (mentions the capitulation of France in the war) and date of impression on verso of front wrap. Memorandum submitted to the 39th Annual Conference of the Labour Party at Bournemouth by the Jewish Socialist Labour Party (Poale Zone) of Great Britain. Memorandum on Nazi persecution of Jews in the first months of the war and the need for immediate settlement in Palestine: "The second world war has revealed the unparalleled tragedy of the Jewish people. ... The sufferings and humiliation of the Jews under Nazi rule have no counterpart even in the cruelty and crime deliberately practised against other inhabitants of the vanquished states. Robbery of the last means of subsistence, starvation, physical ill-treatment, seclusion in overcrowded ghettoes, suppression of all cultural life, concentration camps, slave labour, massacre, and the Lublin reserve destined to become the grave of its compulsory inhabitants - this is the lot of Jewry under Nazi rule.
