A third edition copy of this illustrated work on the campaigns of the Duke of Wellington in France and Belgium, published in the late nineteenth-century. A fascinating military and European history work on the Duke of Wellington's campaigns in France and Belgium, including the Peninsula War, Portugal, the Salamanca Campaign, the invasion of France, and the Waterloo Campaign. Including fifteen illustrations and maps and a portraiture frontispiece, collated and complete. The frontispiece contains sixteen miniature portraits of various important military individuals, and a key is included. The third edition of this work. Written by H.R. Clinton. In the publisher's original red cloth binding with gilt detailing to the front board and spine. Externally, smart, with some light rubbing to the joints and bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Some minor shelf wear. Previous bookseller's small sticker to the front pastedown. Internally, front hinge is starting and the rear joint is tender. Front free-endpapers and frontispiece are starting to detach at the head, but are still attached to the tail. Spotting to the first and last few pages as well as to the fore-edge, affecting the odd page, which are otherwise generally bright and clean. Good
