Original three-quarter blue morocco and marbled boards, spine gilt, a.e.g. Some edge and corner wear, spines somewhat sunned and frayed at feet. Small bookplates on rear pastedowns. Light tanning, otherwise internally clean. About very good. Later edition of Benson Lossing's biography of George Washington, first published in 1870. Also an extensive history of the Revolution and the early years of the Republic. Lossing wrote extensively on American military and political history during the mid-19th century. OCLC 3385105
