About This Item
New York: PublicAffairs, 2001. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7. PublicAffairs, 2001. Hardback First Edition Book and Dust Jacket in Very Good Condition. Foreword by Katharine Graham and an Afterword by Michael Beschloss. Newspaper clippings of the obituary for Katharine Graham laid in, dated in 2001. She is considered a 'journalism giant'. This book is an exploration of the subculture in Washington DC--is it like a boring, elitist's men's club, a recklessly run business, a den of public and private vice, including lechery, larceny, pride, sloth, dissembling, and a lust for power? The name of two former owners is on the endpaper, otherwise the book is in fine condition, in ivory half cloth w/gilt titles, very pale gray paper-wrapped boards, in pristine condition. Tight and solid binding, square, with sharp corners. Pages are clean, unmarked, no creases, as new. The white jacket is slightly darkened along some edges, slight wear to spine head. 241 pages, indexed. 6.5 x 9.5 inches. 2001, PublicAffairs, New York.
