New York: Boni and Liveright, 1922. First printing. Hardcover. Near Fine. 5 x 7 1/2 in. 64 pp. A first edition, first issue. Black flexible cloth boards with gilt titles on cover and spine. Numbered 452 by stamp on limitation pg. In a custom folding cloth cover that fits into a custom slipcase with a blue morocco spine with raised bands and gilt titles. This has all three points of the first edition, first issue: flexible boards, numbered under 500, and the stamped limitation numbers are 5 mm high. Other points, such as "mountain" on pg 41 having an "a" or not, are not indicative of first issue. For the record, this copy has "mountain" spelt correctly, and on pg. 22, "water" is missing the "a". Condition is NEAR FINE ; covers clean and undamaged with only a mere hint of wear to the lower corners. Gilt titles are bright and clear on both the cover and spine. Binding tight with no stress whatsoever to the joints. Text is bright and clean with no markings. The pgs are cut and two are just slightly off, one with a small dip in the upper edge, the other having the corresponding bit sticking up approx 2 mm. There is a paper label from The Holiday Bookshop, 10 W. 47th St., NY on the rfep. The custom case and cover are NEAR FINE with no damage, the inner cover is a bit sunned/toned. See photos. Poetry.
