Beautiful Golden Age of Illustration-era edition of the Victorian fantasy novel, one of the best illustrated interpretations of the classic. . Quarto. 9.75'' x 7.5''. Original green pictorial cloth stamped in cloth with underwater design after Smith's illustration. Illustrated by Smith with 12 tipped-in color plates with captioned tissue guards and in-text images printed in green. x, 240 pages. Light foxing primarily to first and last few leaves as well as text block edges. Spine lean, a couple spots of rubbing to boards. Gilt bright.
