Edinburgh: Adam and Charles Black, 1876. Leather bound. Fair. Octavo. [3], 564 pages, [1]. Frontispiece engraving of the author. Engraved title page. Green morocco leather binding ruled in gilt on the borders of the covers. Gilt illustrated seal from Stonyhurst on the front board. "Merenti Collegium Stonyhurst gilt stamped name on the back cover. Gilt decorations, raised bands, and red leather title label on the spine. Marbled end sheets. Marled text edges. The front hinge appears to have been glued at one point. The front hinge is cracked. The rear hinge has a slight crack. Back cover outer joint is cracked. Leather is rubbed on the cover edges, outer joints, and on the raised spine bands. Interior contents very clean.
