First Edition stated on copy right page, inscribed by author Herbert Childs in black ink on half title page, "For Kay & Jack Willi, Friends of Alice & Paul are friends of mine! Best from Herbert Childs", 429 pages, "A moving love story, and a stirring tale of a Gaucho's fight for his way of life, set against the superbly colorful background of Argentina" story set in the last quarter of the 19th century in Argentina. Book is near Fine, very clean maroon cloth with bright silver titles to the spine, touch of bottom edge wear, light eraser mark on first free page, beautiful map end papers, book is tight and square with sound binding, no previous owner bookplate or writing. Jacket is Very Good Plus at least, very colorful illustrations front/rear panel plus spine, random very light edge wear, original $3.00 price intact, spine a tad sunned, shows nicely in a new mylar sleeve. An ultra clean and most presentable inscribed First Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall.
