It has a distinct odor upon opening - possibly pipe smoke as it is quite sweet. The front corners of the book are damaged. It looks like the book was dropped in some mud or something dark at the top corner which has left the pages rippled and stained in this corner. The bottom corners are curling. The book is shelf rubbed. Despite the damage, the inside pages are clean and perfectly legible. An account of the lives and history of the people of Cobalt, Ontario, based on in-depth interviews with local residents and archival resources. .
