Propaganda photographic work on the 1967 riots protesting British annexation and occupation of Hong Kong, with many b&w photographic illustrations, captioned in Chinese and English. Includes images of the mass leftist riots between pro Communists and their sympathizers, and the Hong Kong establishment. What originated as a minor labor dispute turned into large scale demonstrations and strikes against British colonial rule, with demonstrators clashing with the Hong Kong Police. The police attacked many of the leftists' strongholds arresting leaders of the movement. The leftists eventually resorted to terrorist attacks, planting bombs and killing some members of the press who were opposed to the use of violence.Images include: land seizure through eviction and burning of the huts of poor Chinese; British and HK police raiding workers' unions; Chiang Kai shek airplanes at Kai Tak airport as well as US warships & airplanes; armed riot police fire tear gas at school children; protesters outside Government House; May 22 police attack at Garden Rd; stores and schools ransacked by British; Chatham Road, Kowloon concentration camp; reporters attacked; Kowloon bus, tram, central market and waterfront strikes; and pro Chairman Mao rallies.Oblong 4to, not paginated, approximately 200pp. Stiff paper wrappers, slightly marked.
