First UK,8vo HB+dw/dj,1st edn,by Weidenfeld and Nicolson,UK (1954).Other than US ACE Double with the story's variant title (D-94,vt 'One Against Eternity' 1955),this single p/b issue is it's first appearance thus.] Bright,crisp,clean,sharp-cornered,glossy,colour pictorial artwork (uncredited but Gaighan),illustrated front cover with yellow,b/w and pale blue lettering to same,similar lettering to sunned,slightly faded spine which appears to have no reading creases,rear cover with monochrome art detail repeated from front illustration and red+black lettered critics' reviews; with negligible shelf-wear, bumping,creasing to edges and corners - no nicks,tears or splits present.All edges coloured light pink and with sporadic but minimal foxing/spotting; contents bright,tight,clean,solid and sound - no dog-ear reading creases to any pages' corners, unread,apart from my own collation.US,12mo p/back,1st edn,5-186pp [paginated] includes 19 chapters; plus [unpaginated] story blurb with critics' reviews to its reverse,title page and to the rear,5pp publisher's advert.
