Nogh zyn daarby gevoegt De Vyf Boeken Van Egesippus Van de Joodsche Oorlogen, en den Verwoestinge van Jerusalem. In three volumes. Bound as 4to. Dutch. Half bound calf over yellow marbled boards. Title and volume number on red and black leather spine labels. Continuously paginated. Volume I: [34], 482, [8], 489-782, [30], 113, [17]. Thirteen engravings + eleven fold-out engravings. Volume II: [45], 658, [8]. Four charts, one engraving + one fold-out engraving. Volume III: [6], 659-1940 p.p. One engraving. Wear to edges and corners of all volumes, chafing to boards, minor rubbing to calf. Several large tears and chips, most repaired with paper and/or tape, some loss to text and images. A few long tears remain unrepaired. Occasional damp staining throughout. Worming at p. 489 of volume I. Half coloured vignette to p. 468 of Volume I. Flavius Josephus was a first century Romano-Jewish historian. This is a complete collection of his works, including twenty books on Jewish history, the story of his own life, an account of the Romano-Jewish wars and the destruction of Jerusalem, two books against Apion, and a discussion of the martyrdom of the Maccabees.
