London, 1800. Print. From Antiquities of London by Thomas Smith, a mixed media print showing part of Christs Hospital, with a caption about Sir Robert Clayton, the founder of the Mathematical School which was designed to give poorer citizens a free education to prepare them for sea service.
Sir Christopher Wren was the architect who conducted the repair and improvement of the hall, Cloisters, and parts of the hospital which were damaged in fire.
7 1/2 x 8 1/2", oval image with reddish brown accents above printed text. Slt dusty, original foldmarks, otherwise very good condition.
