London: G.N. Wetton, 1849. vii,256pp. 10 engraved plates, 1 fold-out map. Original embossed brown boards, gilt lettering and decoration. Covers are worn and faded, some internal separation, about half of contents are moderately dampstained to varying degrees, some soiling and is age-toned, but text and plates are complete and very readable, fold-put map has a short clean cut in margin but is otherwise surprisingly clean and sound, owners' names and book plate on front endpapers. This is an actual publication from 1849, not a modern reprint.. Hard Cover. Fair. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.

Bound in worn grey cloth with gilt titles to front board, together with Northampton Town Coat of Arms, this dated 1849 First Edition of this Guide book is Good. V1/256pp with engraved frontis of Quern's Cross, Preface, 11 full-page engraved illustrations,(Several have minor damp damage to one corner) 14 illustrations set in text, folding plan of the District, Early History, Churches, Castle, the University, The Barracks, General Infirmary, Excursions round Northampton, Appendix and Index. front board is worn/damaged at fore-edge and corners, back board has wear to one corner. The surface cloth of both boards has been slightly affected by damp, but binding is sound and book is VG internally. . Good. Hardcover. First Thus Edition. 1849.
