About This Item
London: Williams & Norgate Ltd.. 1932. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. Ex-library with wear to edges and library number written on the spine. There is a pocket removal and withdrawal slip removal on the feps, where several magic marker lines and a "King's College London withdrawn" stamp also appear. Several gutters were reinforced with tape at one time, but only yellowed remnants remain. Throughout the book, on random pages, the stamp "Institute for the Scientific Treatment of Delinquency" appear at the top edges. This is the institute Pailthorpe started in 1931, changing the name from "Association...," to "Institute..." in 1932. This copy, though in woeful condition, is also signed "With the compliments of the Author, G. W. Pailthorpe" inked on the fep and is a scarce book by this noteworthy artist, surgeon and analyst. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 159 pp .
