When the Whippoorwill by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings. 1975 Mockingbird Books, second printing (c/r 1940), 248 pages. Although born elsewhere, Rawlings lived in and wrote about Florida and the people who lived there, at one point leading to a lawsuit for invasion of privacy from her neighbor. Rawlings won the Pultizer and was a good friend of Zora Neale Hurston. When the Whippoorwill is a collection of eleven stories.
Condition: VG, some creasing to the cover.
