Reviews

On Apr 20 2015, a reader said:
I grew up seeing books authored by Janette Oke on my mother’s bookshelf. I knew that when “Where Trust Lies” arrived in my mailbox that this was a book my mother would truly enjoy reading so I gave it to her to read and review. She is an avid historical fiction reader and has been reading books by Janette Oke since the first one was released.

“Grannie’s C Review”

This is the second book in the “Return to the Canadian West” series written by Janette Oke and Laurel Oke Logan, a dynamic mother daughter duo. It is a companion story to the Hallmark Channel’s “When Calls the Heart” TV series.

Elizabeth (Beth) Thatcher returns home to Toronto after a year of teaching in Coal Valley. She has hasn’t had time to unpack before she learns that her parents have planned a cruise for a family holiday. Beth doesn’t want to but her father convinces her to so that she can reconnect with her mother and sisters.

Events aboard the cruise require the Thatcher family to call on Jack Thornton for help. He is a Mountie who has feelings for Beth. Can he help the family find their missing daughter Julie? Will Beth find the happiness that she longs for or will she be called back to teaching in the Coal Valley?

I find that the author makes it feel like you are aboard the cruise with the family living each day with them. The book was incredibly hard to put down that author kept you so intrigued that you had to know what was going to happen next.

The book portrays family ties, romance, mystery and the love of God. It also has strong morals to guide you in life. The book demonstrates that in difficult times you can always rely on God to get you through.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants good wholesome reading that will keep you spellbound. I am looking forward to being able to read the next book in the series. I have read many of Janette Oke’s books and some of Laurel Oke Logan and have enjoyed each and every one.

I received a complimentary copy of “Where Trust Lies (Return to the Canadian West)” by Janette Oke and Laurel Oke Logan in exchange for this honest review by participating in the Bethany House Publishers blogger review program. I was not compensated for this review; all opinions are my own.
