Clean First Edition, First Printing (First Published April, 1936 on copyright page) in unclipped original dust jacket. Brown wrap-around illustration on clean beige boards. No fraying or wear. Binding is tight and square, hinges are sound - no cracking. All pages and edges are clean, with clean illustrated endpapers; no names, writing or marks. Title page in green and black with a Zhenya Gay illustration. All illustrations, jacket, endpapers by Zhenya Gay. 235 pages. Clean dust jacket has some fading to spine, a few tiny edge nicks (no chips), not price clipped (2.00 on front inside flap); enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover. Very nice example of this rare and splendid fiction written by Idwal Jones for older boys. Following a Gipsy caravan over the wild moorlands of Wales--sleeping under the stars with the Rommany Company--learning the strange passwords and tradition-bound customs of a picturesque nomad race--each day full of new adventures, and never knowing what will come tomorrow--that is the life that Gwilym learns when he dares to follow the Whistlers' Van in search of his grandfather..
