About This Item
New York: Greenberg, 1952. Hardcover. Very Good / Good. 12mo, 7.4 in. x 5 in., pp. xxx, 5-100. Red cloth boards with black title to front and spine. Top corners nudged. Age-toning to pages. Unmarked interior. Rubbing and a few creases to edges of dustjacket. Open tear on bottom of dustjacket cover overlaps author's name; chip to top of spine. There are no pages 1-4, nor does it appear that there ever were; the interactive feature of the book seems unaffected by these "missing" pages. First published in 1919, "'The White-Magic Book' forms the basis of a fascinating party game in which you can tell the fortunes of your friends. Innumerable questions are given, and the answers are found in the mysticallly arranged table of signs, affording an infinaite variety of clues to the future. The questions are so devised that no matter what you want to discover, you will have an answer." (from the dustjacket).
