About This Item

Simon & Schuster, 2009. 1st Edition. Hardcover. F/NF. First Impression with full printer's line 1 3 5 7 9 10 8 6 4 2. Scarce variant binding (produced concurrently for Waterstones) showing a portrait of Elizabeth Woodville owned by Queen's College Cambridge (rather that the more common photographic image by Jeff Cottenden). A further difference is that it contains an extract from her "next book". Signed in the day of publication, 18th August 2009. The original Liane Payne designed dust jacket with cut-out is unclipped, showing 18.99 at the bottom corner of the front flap. It is identical to that used for the other variant binding save for having the portrait credit instead of the photographer credit at the bottom of the rear flap. This jacket als has a Waterstones sticker applied to the front panel. The boards are in fine condition with firm, sharp and square corners and no shelf wear. The titles are very bright and fresh and the spine ends are firm. The binding is very firm and square. The book appears unread. Internally, there is no name, inscription or bookplate other than that by the author. The dust jacket is in near fine condition, having three small closed tears at the edge of the cut-out (at the 9 & 11 o'clock positions) and is now protected in a removable clear jacket (not shown). The last additional image in this listing shows the two bindings as a comparison - only the book in the description is being sold in this listing. Rainford & Parris Books welcomes enquiries, so please do not hesitate to ask if you require further images or have any questions. All books are packaged with great care.

Full of love, betrayal, history, and chivalry- what is not to love? I recommend reading The Lady of the Rivers first. This author is phenomenal with bringing history and her imagination to life together!
