Photoplay illustrated edition. 8vo, blue cloth with black lettering on spine and front cover, Photoplay edition with glossy B&W frontispiece and 3 B&W stills from the 1923 motion picture, archival mylar-protected pictorial dust jacket (unclipped) with portrait of Lilian Gish as the White Sister, 335 pages + [10] Ads. The White Sister was a 1923 American drama film starring Lillian Gish and Ronald Colman, directed by Henry King, and belatedly released by Metro Pictures. It was based on the 1909 novel of the same name by Francis Marion Crawford, It was the second of three early adaptations of the novel, preceded by a 1915 production and followed by a 1933 sound film, starring Helen Hayes and Clark Gable. VERY SCARCE Photoplay edition in so good a dust jacket (unclipped). Dj with saintly portait of Lilian Gish in white wimpole is rubbed with some soil and defects: nicks at edges, top and bottom of spine, and corners.
