Dark-blue and black boards with gold writing on spine; top and bottom of book spine slightly rumpled. Very small chip and crease on top right corner of front dust jacket; very slight chipping at top corners where dust jacket flaps are folder. Top of dust jacket spine shows slight shelf wear; book has overall tight binding and pages still look in excellent condition.
Book-of-the-Month Club Edition as indicated by blurb on copyright page. Copyright page also indicates that this edition has "slight revisions that the author made to the text in 1976."
Tevis' science fiction classic tale that "brilliantly combines psychological realism with an archetypal science fiction plot". Hardcover and original unclipped dust jacket protected by archival Mylar cover.
Synopsis
Walter Tevis was an English literature professor at the University of Ohio and is best known for three of his novels, which turned into blockbuster films: The Man Who Fell to Earth, The Hustler, and The Color of Money. His other books include Mockingbird and The Steps of the Sun which appeared shortly before his death in 1984.
