Some light, scattered foxing. A very good set.. First edition, in two volumes. Illustrated with wood engravings by Harry Dixon. 'Baker calls upon a lifetime of hunting experiences to describe a variety of big game worldwide.' Czech (Africa) p. 16; (Asia) p. 20. Samuel White Baker (1821-1893) was an English explorer, naturalist, big game hunter, and writer. He is best known for his explorations of the Nile and the interior of Central Africa (he was the first European to visit Lake Albert), and for his exploits as a big game hunter..
