Boards have light edgewear with corner crushing and notable marking to boards. Heavy tanning to board edges and spine, which has mild crushing to ends. Mild water droplets to surfaces. Books has a backward lean.

Pencil inscription to front and rear paste-downs, with a few nicks and creases along text block edge. Water staining to front hinge. Occasional thumb-marking present throughout. Mild cracking to gutters with exposed netting. Binding remains firm. Plates are lightly tanned. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with notable bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Book has a slight forward lean. Moderate tanning to spine and edges, with visible crushing to spine ends. Liquid drops down spine.

A clean copy with little foxing. Pp.xxix,472. Well illustrated including many full-page colour plates. A good edition of this classic work on Highland wild life.
