Sound and square binding in cloth-covered boards, with stamped illustration and decoration on upper board. Bottom fore-corners are bumped. Light soil and rubbing to boards. Staining on top edge of the text block. Previous owner's name and date (1911) on the front free endpaper and the blank side of the frontispiece. Otherwise, the inside pages are generally clean and unmarked. Sixteen stories of the animal kingdom. Includes fifteen black and white engravings. .
