This is the story of one family who left the security of the ir Virginia home and farm to face the rigours and hazards of the long trek through the wilderness to Ohio, the price paid for freedom of conscience. First pub. in 1951 in N.Y. under the title "Fruit i n His Season". DJ is full page black and white illust of covered wagon trek. Min tears and wear to corners and edges. New mylar cover. Price clipped. Dj has a good overall presentation. Binding is r ed cloth on boards with gilt lettering and Bannisdale Press logo, on spine. Binding in near new cond. 1 slightly bumped corner. Bright, tight and clean. Endpaper has stamp stating: "permanent" But th i s is not a library copy. Rear of book has listing of other Bannisdale Press "Quaker Subject " books.
