About This Item
1921 hardcover as pictured. A handsome book. This is a nice history and section-by-section description of Daniel Boone's Wilderness Road. It includes selections from a number of early journals describing the trail, 56 illustrations and photographs and 9 maps, two of which are fold outs. Binding is firm. Green cloth boards with gold stamping show only slight edge wear. Endpapers are tanned and lightly mottled with previous owners' names in pencil. Rear endpapers have been discolored by several old newspaper clippings concerned with the Wilderness Road. The clippings are included. Head and tail bands. Edge of text block is mottled. Text itself, printed on art paper, is lightly tanned and mottled at edges but appears otherwise clean and unmarked. Dust jacket is age tanned with a number of tears and chips. We have an extensive selection of books on Kentucky history for sale. Please see our storefront for more information. Your purchase helps support our small village library. s OE4
