About This Item

Missoula, Montana: Mountain Press Publishing Company, 1998. Soft cover. Fine. 217 pages, book is clean and binding is tight. An interesting biography of one of America's greatest photographers which interweaves Jackson's own words from his diaries with commentary on challenges of the westward expansion. Regarding his 99 year lifespan from 1843-1942 perhaps Jackson summed it up the best in his autobiography with the words " I have been one of the fortunate." A very nice copy.
