About This Item

Royal Canadian Air Force Association, 1963 first edition, 104 p. ill. b/w sketches of planes used by the Canadian military pilots in the last 50 years. The types of aircraft used by the Canadian Armed Forces from the two-seat single engined bi-plane R.E.8 of WWI to the CS2F-1 "Tracker" built in Canada by de Havilland in the 1950s and '60s. Each aircraft has a line drawing accompanied by a descriptive text in English and French. The inside front cover has facsimile signatures of over 70 pilots including Raymond Collishaw, G E Nash and Joe Macbrien. On front board signatures of pilots with a tissue overlay of their names printed and on the back board the Trans Canada Trophy with the tissue overlay of the winners and their sginatures. Very good red cloth and gilt.
