Smeeton spent about four months in China travelling alone and always by the cheapest class of boat or bus because she liked it that way and she would meet people on her own terms. Blue cloth, silver titling to spine, frontispiece, 264 pages. Light sunning to spine and top edge, white spots to front, a few dark discolorations, a pressure mark to top of back, some edge wear, previous owner's address sticker to ffep. The dust jacket is price clipped and shows worn edges with chipping to spine ends and corner, closed tears to spine edges and top of back, and some creasing. The dust jacket illustration is still bright and beautiful. It is now protected in a Brodart cover.
