(small chip at top of spine of dj, other minor wear, price on dj has been stamped over with 2.50.) The upper corners of a few pages are slightly bumped, but binding and front illustration is bright and beautiful. . Early printing. The 29th of the "Famous Forty" Oz books. After L. Frank Baum's death, Ruth Plumly Thompson continued the Oz series, writing 19 Oz books. John R. Neill, the original illustrator of the Oz books, also went on to write and illustrate his own Oz books. The list of books on the rear flap of the dj list to The Magical Mimics of Oz (shown in the list as 36, but actually 37).Black and white illustrations by John R. Neill 298 pp. Illustrated endpapers.
