The Witches was the second of only two Roald Dahl and Quentin Blake signed limited editions published exclusively in the US. Octavo. Original blue cloth boards, spine lettered in red, front cover with pictorial design in red, blue endpapers. No jacket as issued. In the publisher's slipcase. Illustrated throughout by Quentin Blake. Minor finger-soiling to slipcase: a fine copy in a near-fine slipcase.
Synopsis
Roald Dahl's, The Witches , tells the story of the "real" witches, their great hatred for kids, and their plot to destory all of the children of the world! This is a great tale for older kids, or one to read to younger children. It is eerie and strange in parts, poignant in others, and yet maintains an optimistic perspective from the hero; a young boy turned into a mouse by a witch who must plot to save the other children of the world. This book is on the American Library Association list of the 100 Most Frequently Challenged Books of 1990 to 1999.
