New York, London and Bombay:: Longmans, Green and Co. , 1896.. First American Edition. Octavo. Original red cloth titled in gilt and black and with a design of a snake in green on spine panel, front panel lettered in gilt upon a decoration of a shield and swords in black surrounded by entwined green snakes, the whole set upon a background of rays in blind. Frontispiece with tissue guard and 19 additional black and white illustrations by Charles Kerr inserted throughout the text. [16] page undated publishers catalogue bound in at rear. Light foxing to endpapers and faint rubbing to spine tips, the front panel has an odd, light stain slightly darkening part of the upper half of the front panel but the book is still very attractive.
