Cribb, who investigates a mysterious death that takes place during a gruelling six-day endurance race set in Islington in 1879. Lovesey saw this one win the Macmillan/Panther First Crime Novel Prize, and it later made two separate lists of top 100 crime/mystery novels. Pickle-coloured cloth w/black spine lettering, 190 pages.
