London: Praeger (1994), 1994. First edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. 8vo. [7], viii-xiv, [1], 2-208, [2] pp. Black cloth with silver lettering on the spine. Price of $22.50 on the front flap of the dust jacket. Illustrated with several in-text and full-page black and white photographs. The history of women who played baseball professionally from 1866 through the late 1940's. Berlage records historical anecdotes from Black and white women who played baseball before 1952, when a rule was issued that women could not be professional baseball players. A bit of discoloration to the bottom textblock.
