XII, 308 pages, list of illustrations, for word and acknowledgements, bibliography and index. The text is illustrated with 26 black-and-white illustrations, facsimiles of documents and photographs. Brown coloured boards with gilt writing to the back strip. Bumping to the head and to the heel of the back strip and rubbing to the book corners. Shelf wear to the lower book entries. Light browning to the text block edges. The internal pages have become very lightly tanned. Photographic / illustrated dustwrapper ( wraparound ), showing historic photographs of winning Unionists and an illustration of a woman holding a banner. Black and white writing to the front panel and back strip. Rubbing and creasing to the dustwrapper edges. Sun fading to the front fore edge, back strip and video edge of the dustwrapper. Rubbing, and marking to the dustwrapper has also occurred. In this book the author traces how the women's workers in Britain, from mediaeval times up until 1970, fought for, and received, equal pay for equal work. It is also the story of the trade union movement in Britain and its relevance to women and particularly women in the working force. This is the first UK edition. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
