UsedGood. 1854 printing. Scarce. Brown cloth boards with gilt lettering on spine. Cover scuffed and generally shelfworn with age. Corners noticeably bumped. Front hinge starting. Spine cracked, but all pages intact, including glassine wrapper over title page. Marks by previous owner on front endpaper. Yellowing to page edges. Text clean, no underlining. Overall good copy of a rare mid-19th century Hawthorne book.
