About This Item
Seattle, WA: Red Cedar Lumber Manufacturers' Association, 1926. Book. Good. Paperback. First Edition. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 20 pages. Printed on glossy stock. Many nice black and white photos, most of which show fine architecturally designed Pacific Northwest homes of the day incorporating Western Red Cedar lumber into their construction. Names of the architects are provided. Includes considerable text which explains the properties and best home construction applications for this rot resistant wood, plus a one-page list of conifer and hardwood varieties listing their relative resistance to decay. Reproduction of photo inside back cover shows a red cedar log at least two thousand years old - still with sound wood - which has been literally overgrown by two huge trees. Last page lists the sixteen mills in Washington State and British Columbia which constituted this trade association. Unmarked with average wear. A sound vintage copy..
