1922. Anna Macková (1887-1969) was born in Studeňany near Jičín.
In the years 1909-1911 she studied painting of portraits, still lifes and landscapes at Charles Reisner in Prague. She then studied graphic art with the Czech graphic artist František Horký.
In 1918 she first met her future partner, the Czech writer, painter, printmaker and book-printer Josef Váchal, but their relationship started only in 1920 and especially after the death of Váchal's wife, Marie.
