Obviously the Japanese occupation soon separated them, buy they stayed on after the war until her husband retired as British Adviser to Johor in 1952. This account of life as a 'mem' in Johor, Melaka and Perak at the end of empire is freshly brought to life by journal entries written at the time. Unusually she decides not to dwell on her internment under the Japanese, devoting only one page to her experiences as a POW. 216 pages. Weight: 0.8kg. Post free within Malaysia
